What are Port Cyber’s response times and support availability?
At Port Cyber, exceptional client service is our top priority. We provide true 24/7/365 monitoring and support through our Security Operations Center (SOC). Critical issues receive an initial response within 15 minutes. Standard support is available from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, with emergency weekend coverage available from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. There are no after-hours surcharges for managed Critical MaaS clients.
How is Port Cyber different from other IT companies? How do your interests align with mine?
Port Cyber is an employee-owned managed service provider built on transparency and true partnership. We use a simple, predictable flat-fee service model which provides unlimited proactive support, monitoring, and cybersecurity with no hourly billing, no overtime charges, and no nickel-and-diming. Our incentives are perfectly aligned with yours: when something goes wrong, we fix it at no extra cost. That means we’re highly motivated to prevent problems in the first place. We hire top-tier talent, use enterprise-grade tools, and deliver white-glove service because our team members think and act like owners.
How does Port Cyber protect against major disruptions and cyber threats?
We protect you from the unexpected: ransomware, phishing, breaches, hardware failures, outages, and other “black swan” events through layered, enterprise-grade defenses that are standard in every Critical MaaS plan. This includes 24/7 Managed Detection and Response (MDR), AI-powered threat hunting, advanced endpoint protection, email security, and immutable offsite backups with rapid recovery. Our proactive approach dramatically reduces risk and keeps your business running smoothly.
What is the Port Cyber Client Portal and how does it work?
Every client receives access to our secure, web-based Client Portal. Our portal is your central hub for real-time monitoring dashboards, ticket submission/tracking, backup status, security alerts, documentation, reports, and knowledge base resources. It provides complete transparency into your IT environment 24/7 and streamlines communication so you always know exactly what’s happening with your technology.
How does Port Cyber handle data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity?
Backup and disaster recovery are core components of Critical MaaS. We implement modern 3-2-1 strategies with immutable (ransomware-resistant), encrypted backups of servers, workstations, Microsoft 365 data, and critical files. Backups are stored securely offsite and tested regularly. In an emergency, we can rapidly restore systems or spin up virtualized images in our high-availability infrastructure.
Can Port Cyber host my servers or provide cloud infrastructure?
Yes. Comprehensive Critical MaaS clients receive secure, high-availability server hosting included at no extra cost in our professional data centers. We also fully manage Microsoft 365, Azure, and hybrid/cloud environments—including migrations, optimization, security, and governance—so you get all the benefits of the cloud without the complexity or risk.
Does Port Cyber provide email security and continuity services?
Advanced email security and business continuity are built into every Critical MaaS plan. We deliver phishing/malware protection, spam filtering, and continuity features that keep email flowing even during outages or attacks. Standalone email security is also available if you don’t need fully managed services.
Are offsite backups included in your services?
Unlimited encrypted offsite backups and secure storage are standard with Critical MaaS. We include file-level and image-based backups with fast recovery options. This foundational protection is part of our flat-fee model, offering you true peace of mind.
Can Port Cyber handle specific IT projects if I don’t need full managed services
Absolutely. We regularly deliver fixed-fee IT projects: cloud migrations, cybersecurity assessments, network upgrades, Microsoft 365 deployments, compliance readiness, and more—without requiring a full Critical MaaS agreement. Contact us to discuss your needs.
Do you support cloud, hybrid, and Microsoft 365 environments?
Yes; most of our clients run Microsoft 365, Azure, or hybrid setups. We fully manage security, identity/access, governance, cost optimization, and seamless integration with any remaining on-premise systems.
What does the onboarding process look like?
Onboarding is smooth and typically completed with zero downtime. We start with a no-obligation IT and security assessment, then create a custom roadmap. Our onboarding team handles inventory, documentation transfer, tool migration, and training, so your team experiences seamless service from day one.
What are co-managed IT services and when are they the right choice?
Co-managed services let you keep your in-house IT team while partnering with Port Cyber for specialized support in high-value areas. We handle the complex, time-consuming, or high-risk tasks (patch management, endpoint security, backups, etc.) while your team retains control over day-to-day operations. It’s ideal for organizations that want expert augmentation without fully outsourcing, giving you the best of both worlds: internal knowledge plus enterprise-grade expertise.
Do you offer co-managed patch management?
Yes. We provide proactive patch management for servers, workstations, applications, and firmware. Whether you need us to handle everything or just the critical and high-risk patches, we work seamlessly with your team to minimize downtime and security exposure.
How does your co-managed endpoint security (EDR/MDR) work?
We deliver enterprise-grade endpoint detection and response (EDR) and managed detection and response (MDR) on a co-managed basis. Our 24/7 SOC monitors, investigates, and contains threats while your team retains visibility and control. You decide the level of involvement, from full management to alert escalation and guided remediation.
Can you provide co-managed backups, disaster recovery, and hosting?
Absolutely. We offer co-managed backups and disaster recovery with immutable, ransomware-resistant storage, regular testing, and rapid recovery options. We can also manage or co-manage secure hosting in our data centers, Microsoft Azure, or hybrid environments—giving you expert oversight without taking full ownership away from your team.
What does co-managed help desk support look like
Our co-managed help desk provides flexibility to meet the requirements of your particular situation. For example, we can operate the entire helpdesk; or if it’s a better fit, we can provide tier-2 and tier-3 support as an extension of your internal team. We handle complex troubleshooting, escalation, and after-hours coverage while your staff manages first-level requests. This model reduces burnout on your team and ensures consistently fast, expert-level resolution.
How do I choose between fully managed services (Critical MaaS) and co-managed services?
Full Critical MaaS is ideal when you want us to own the entire IT environment end-to-end. Co-managed services are perfect when you want to keep your internal team in the driver’s seat but need expert reinforcement in specific areas (patch management, EDR/MDR, backups, hosting, help desk, etc.). We’ll help you choose the model that best fits your goals, budget, and internal capabilities during your initial assessment.
